Department of English
The Department of English was established in the year 1962. English Language being vital to each field the department always attracted aspirants of excellence in language and lovers of literature.
Both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are conducted by the department. Language as mandatory part of the Foundation Course in UG, the Language is commonly accessed by all the undergraduate students hence the activity and vital role of the Department widens itself with sincerity and innovative spirit.
The faculty members keep enhancing their calibre by attending Academic programmes such as orientation and refresher courses held at academic staff colleges of different universities all over the nation. The staff members also work as resource persons in various academic activities.
The department has a rich library with valuable books published in India and abroad nourishing the young minds with quality knowledge and wisdom and catering their academic needs. Teachers also help in counselling of the students. The staff is research oriented and organizes group discussions and seminars for the benefit of the students.
Webinars, Seminars, Conferences and Expert Lectures with topics of current developments in literature along with the foundation of the past have been remarkable features of the department right from the beginning.
Many of the academic sessions of this long journey are marked with golden shine as our students have secured top ranks in merits of the university. Our alumni have presented a proud tradition of honourable places in the society. Ranging widely in different professions the students have got the placements in Educational institutions, Media houses, Journalism, Entertainment industries and Political and Social fields. Some of them are nationally and internationally known writers and poets.
