About the Department: CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry is the biggest Department of the college. It was established in 1963. The Department of Chemistry offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The department also offers opportunities for doctoral research. Qualified, trained and dedicated faculty members are asset and prestige of this department, determined for academic excellence and bright future of students and working earnestly for betterment of   society and environment as well. Faculty members are specialized in different fields like Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry making teaching and learning environment enriching and interesting for students.
The department is actively engaged in current research, particularly, Green Chemistry, Microwave Synthesis and Natural Products. According to the demand of skill required in chemical industries and job opportunities, it also offers different certificate courses. Our Faculty members participate in academic development activities and are members of academic societies and boards.
The department has four laboratories and one smart classroom for theory classes. The department is equipped with instruments like UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Flame Photometer, Soxhlet apparatus, Water Analysis kit etc. The department has rich library with quality reference books and Journals for post graduate students, research scholars and faculty members. The department provides guidance and regular free coaching to students for CSIR-NET, SET, GATE, JAM examinations.
