Department of Mathematics
About the Department: The Department of Mathematics was established in 1963 with UG programme and stepped up to PG programme in 1972 that further developed as research centre for Doctoral Researches. With a rich heritage of knowledge and a commitment of fostering intellectual curiosity, the department is dedicated towards providing outstanding education at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
Our UG program under NEP 2020 lays a strong foundation in areas such as Vector Analysis, Calculus, Differential Equations, Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Numerical Methods and Scientific Computing etc. to prepare students for a myriad of career options.
For students aspiring to delve deeper into the realms of Mathematics our PG programme enables them to specialize in areas like Real Analysis, Topology, Special Functions, Complex Analysis, Functional Analysis, Operation research, Advanced Discrete Mathematics and Integral Transform.
The Department of Mathematics has rich library for PG students and research scholars. It also offers certificate courses in “Business Mathematics” and “Mathematical Sciences for SET and NET”.
Through an array of meticulously organized events such as webinars, international conferences, seminars, educational tours, outreach activities, the department enriches the educational journey of students, creating an intellectually stimulating environment.
Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in the achievements of our students. Our students shine in the merit list of Vikram University, Ujjain, showcasing their exceptional understanding of Mathematics.
The research endeavours of our faculty members have found a prestigious place in internationally acclaimed journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus and UGC CARE, reflecting the quality and impact of their contributions to the global academic community. The faculty members have completed major and minor research projects. They have been delivering invited talks and presenting research papers in various national and international conferences. So far 5 students have received Ph. D. degree.
